New Traffic Fine in Nepal

The government had announced that the new regulations will come into effect on May 1

Rs 500 Fine

  1. Not wearing a helmet while riding a motorbike or not wearing seat belts
  2. Public vehicles carrying passengers on the roof
  3. Vehicles carrying load beyond capacity
  4. Vehicles being used for different purposes without permit
  5. Reckless driving
  6. Obstructing the road


Rs 1000 Fine
  1. Driving under influence
  2. Haphazardly parking motor vehicles in public places
  3. Driving without licence or letting someone without licence to drive
  4. Causing accidents or absconding from a scene of accident



Rs 1500 Fine
  1. Disregarding traffic signs or traffic police instructions
  2. Dangerous driving
  3. Driving a vehicle without a number plate
  4. Driving in the wrong lane or from the wrong side of the road
  5. Driving a public vehicle without route permit or deviating from approved route
  6. Driving a vehicle which in not in good condition
  7. Charging passengers more than the fixed rate in public vehicles
  8. Over speeding
  9. Driving in prohibited areas
  10. Driving without turning lights on during night time
  11. Refusing to take in passengers in public vehicles
